Oedipus Unmasked goes behind the scenes of a rare theatrical event as more than 40 actors and dozens of artisans create the spectacular 1997 Stratford Festival production of Sophocles’ Oedipus Rex. Douglas Campbell who played King Oedipus on the same stage in 1955 under the hand of legendary Tyrone Gutherie, directs his son Benedict Campbell, as the cursed kin who has unwittingly murdered his father and married his mother.
