AS SLOW AS POSSIBLE Available soon on DVD. Click here for details.
On his 18th birthday, Ryan Knighton was told that he was slowly going blind. 15 years later, as he prepares to lose his last sliver of light, Knighton sets out for Germany to hear the next note change in the six hundred and thirty nine-year-old organ performance of the John Cage composition AS SLOW AS POSSIBLE. Part road trip, part meditation on Knighton's relationship to a sighted past and the uncertainty of his own future, filmmaker Scott Smith accompanies him as he canes his way from Canada to Berlin and on to a thousand-year-old church in Halberstadt to find the organ, and to see what a note change could mean.
